Israeli drone assault kills Hezbollah member in Lebanon

(MENAFN) An Israeli drone attack on Saturday struck a vehicle in southern Lebanon, killing a Hezbollah member, according to reports and security sources.

The victim was identified as Hadi Ali Khnafer, a resident of Ainata. The strike reportedly involved four missiles and hit the vehicle between the villages of Aitaroun and Ainata in the Bint Jbeil district.

A ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel, mediated by the United States and France, has been in place since November 27, 2024, following clashes sparked by the Gaza conflict.

Despite the truce, Israeli forces continue to hold strategic positions in southern Lebanon and carry out airstrikes in southern and eastern regions, which they claim are intended to neutralize Hezbollah “threats.”
