Where AI filmmaking meets the real industry—bringing creators, filmmakers, and tech leaders together across production, careers, distribution, and IP.
LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, September 9, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Tyrannus Foundation today announced LA AI Film Summit 2026, a new industry gathering focused on the rapidly evolving intersection of artificial intelligence, filmmaking and the entertainment industry. The Summit will take place on October 24, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at City Club Los Angeles, bringing together filmmakers, AI creators, producers, technology companies, founders, investors and entertainment professionals for an afternoon of practical industry conversations, screenings, demonstrations and networking.
As generative AI moves beyond experimentation and into real-world production, the questions facing creators and entertainment companies are also changing.
The conversation is no longer only about what AI can generate. Increasingly, filmmakers must understand how to build repeatable production workflows, build sustainable careers, bring projects to market, navigate copyright and intellectual property, and create viable business models around emerging forms of storytelling.
LA AI Film Summit was created around those questions.
“AI filmmaking is entering a very different stage,” said Chantel Chang, Co-Founder of Tyrannus Foundation and LA AI Film Summit. “The technology is advancing incredibly quickly, but creators also need a bridge into the real industry — how to produce professional work, build relationships, understand the business and ultimately create something that has lasting value. That is the conversation we want this Summit to help move forward.”
The program is structured around four central industry conversations:
MAKE IT — AI Filmmaking: From Experiment to Production
A discussion of production-ready AI workflows, visual and character consistency, directing, editing, post-production and the trade-offs between speed, cost and quality.
BUILD A CAREER — The New AI Filmmaker: Skills, Roles & Industry Opportunity
A look at emerging creative roles, professional positioning, portfolios, collaboration between traditional and AI talent, and how creators can translate new technical capabilities into sustainable careers.
SELL IT — From Great Work to Real Distribution
A practical conversation about audience and market fit, distribution, festivals, platforms, branding, partnerships, sponsorships and monetization.
OWN IT — Protect the Work. Clear the Rights. Keep the Value.
A discussion focused on copyright, authorship, intellectual property, source material, licensing, likeness and voice rights, contracts and the long-term ownership of AI-assisted creative work.
Beyond the main-stage conversations, the Summit will include a Creator Lab within the Industry Exchange area, featuring live demos and tool showcases; a Screening Room featuring selected AI-driven work; and opportunities for creators to connect directly with technology platforms, production partners, and industry professionals.
The Summit will also host the Tyrannus Angel Awards ceremony, celebrating creators from around the world who use artificial intelligence not simply to generate images, but to tell stories with emotional truth, creative vision, and the power to move people. Hundreds of submissions have already been received internationally, with selected finalist works to be screened during the event. The official finalist lineup will be announced on October 1, 2026.
Rather than positioning AI as a replacement for filmmakers, the organizers say the Summit is intended to examine how technology, creative authorship and human storytelling can evolve together.
“Technology can dramatically expand what an individual creator is capable of producing,” Chantel added. “But the future of film will still depend on taste, judgment, storytelling, relationships and human perspective. The opportunity is to understand how those things work together.”
LA AI Film Summit 2026 will take place Saturday, October 24, 2026, at City Club Los Angeles.
